Tile Coaster

Prolong using, it get wet, stained, smelly and flakey.

Leftover tiles from renovation
Small tile: 20cm
Big tile: 30cm

Self-adhesive rubber discs (used to prevent furniture from sliding).
I got this set for $1 at Valu$ (Compasspoint #04-10).

Need 4 rubber discs for each tile.
Turn the tile over.
Stick the rubber disc on each corner of the tile.
Press it hard for about 5 seconds.
Repeat it on each corner.

Place the hot pot on the tile to prevent burn stain on the table.

In a small kitchen, there is limited working space.

Place the big tile on top of the burner.

Created another space for the cooker.

When using the tile near the burning flame, be careful when removing it as it will be hot.

Why tiles?
  • To recycle the leftover tiles.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Prevent burn stain on table.
  • Provide extra working space.

Dot the diamonds positions lightly with a pencil.

Sew the diamonds in place on both sides of the collar.

The end product..

I'm not very good with my sewing skills, hence it took a bit of time to complete this mini project but I felt a sense of satisfaction upon completion and on top of it, I save money!!

"Recreated" Ikea Laundry Bag

Before

Plastic Bag torn and tattered but the frame is of good conditon.

Remove the damaged plastic laundry bag.

Prepare about 20 cable ties.

Insert the cable tie into the gap of each white square.
About 10 cable ties on each opposite sides.

Use cloth peg to hold the laundry bag to the frame while you tighten the cable ties to the rod.
When all the cable ties are tightened, trim off the ends.
Rotate the knot parts downwards so it will look neater.

After

The cost of buying the Ikea plastic laundry bag is $7.90, however I felt that the quality is slightly thin.
The white & red checkered Ikea laundry bag is also $7.90 and it is sturdier and come in different colours.
